Varieties of almost minimal degree (third lecture)

This is the last lecture of a cycle of three lectures. In the first one varieties of minimal degree had been introduced and in the second one a construction principle and the classification of varieties of almost minimal degree, that is, of degree equal to codimension + 2, had been presented. Now arithmetic properties of such varieties will be discussed.
